About Me.

I have always been quite active but my passion for fitness developed during my time studying Dance at University. I focussed my dissertation on Nutrition for Dancers which really sparked an interest around using food to fuel, and to look after our bodies. I also completed a placement in community dance with older adults, which then encouraged me to go down the route of community exercise with older adults. I trained as  'Move it or Lose it' instructor after graduating from University. I enjoyed the classes so much that I decided to broaden my scope of practice and qualify as a Level 2 Exercise to music instructor, and Level 3 Personal Trainer. 

I now do a range of classes in and around Sutton Coldfield; Care home sessions, 'Move it or Lose it' classes, Gym classes and 1:1 sessions. I advertise as 'The Low Impact PT' as I believe there is a real gap in the fitness industry for those who want to start exercising but maybe don't feel comfortable in a gym environment, or who need a lower alternative. These sessions can be done in the comfort of your own home or in a local  private studio. 

I have a real passion for using exercise as a way to improve quality of life, to help with healthy ageing and improve sense of wellbeing. If you are interested or just want a chat about any of the services I offer, please do get in contact.

Qualifications

Level 3 Personal Trainer

As 'The Low Impact PT', I run 1:1 personalised sessions in the comfort of your own home or in a private studio.  I have a passion for helping anyone who needs a lower impact alternative, is returning to exercise or who doesn't feel comfortable going into a gym environment. Exercises can be done seated to begin with if needed and then we will progress to standing. All abilities can be catered to. 

Level 2 Exercise to Music 

I run gym classes at local gyms including Body Conditioning, Dance Fit, Legs, bums & tums and Stretch and relax. I am also available to do these classes as a one off or regular booking for work places and specific events.

'Move it or Lose it' Instructor

The Move it or Lose it' classes are lower impact exercise classes that can be done seated, standing or with chair support. The classes are aimed at the over 60's or those returning to exercise. The focus of the classes are to improve: Aerobic Capacity, Strength, Flexibility and Balance.

BA (Hons) Dance

I have a BA (Hons) in Dance where I did a placement in  community Dance, and also completed a dissertation on 'Nutrition for Dancers'. Both of these now help inform my practice.
